SUPARCO successfully completed another real-world test of its latest satellite-based navigation solution, Pak-SBAS, during the Thal Desert Rally, led by a female rally driver Ms. Humaima Faraz. The challenging Thal Desert terrain provided the ideal setting to assess high-precision navigation, real-time positioning, and route accuracy. Ms. Faraz relied entirely on the advanced system to navigate sand tracks and sharp dunes, demonstrating the solution’s reliability under extreme off-road conditions.
The successful test highlights the growing role of space-based navigation technologies in Pakistan, with potential applications in transportation, disaster management, and off-road operations. SUPARCO plans additional field trials to demonstrate the system’s performance for varying user requirements.
